Thomas B. Darnton, J.D.

Ann Arbor divorce mediator, Tom Darnton, received his law degree, cum laude, from the University of Michigan Law School in 1972, and began to practice law that year. In 1992, he completed 50 hours of specialized training in mediation. He was in the first group of Michigan attorneys to receive training in the techniques of Collaborative Practice in 2004.

Tom has been actively engaged in the practice of family law since 1972. He is recognized as one of Washtenaw county’s leading professionals in the area of family law and is frequently recommended for difficult or complex cases. He is a trained mediator and Collaborative Practitioner who has focused his practice on managing, resolving or avoiding disputes involving families, businesses and non-profit organizations.

He is a member of the American Bar Association, the State Bar of Michigan, the Association for Conflict Resolution, the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals, the Collaborative Practice Institute of Michigan and the Michigan Council for Family and Divorce Mediation. He is on the approved mediators list of the Family Division of the Washtenaw County Trial Court.
